MMXXL is a treasure. you're absolutely right; this film (and its predecessor) has a very loose technical style which gives the film authenticity
I thought the 70mm was appropriate because it forces you to scan the screen to see what's going on in the background.
Spotlight is also my top movie of 2015, so at least that gives these people some credibility
in the last few years I've developed a low tolerance for media exclusively about the straight white male experience
a lot of these movies are pretty fun. to me, they're no different than any interchangeable blockbuster that caters to men aged 13-39. it appeals to certain sensibilities and has its own charms.
