I’d rank ‘Dark Knight Rises’ higher based entirely on the opening set piece. “Maybe he’s wondering why someone would shoot a man before throwing him out of a plane,” Bane says to the self-satisfied CIA agent, owning him. So well done.

I drove a cab, and would be called to come pick up someone like this pretty much every weekend. Drunk lady at a bar tries to kiss a couple people, gets asked to leave, causes a scene? Sorry, I’m missing the part where this deserves a full-article breakdown. If she ended up absconding with the Monkey Bar monkey mascot

Wait so the proof that Jordan is concerned about his legacy vs LeBron’s is the existence of The Last Dance?

This is hilarious. The sketch is pretty good (rewrote the rules of comedy?) but I’m afraid I was totally that guy. Back in my office-temp days I would get annoyed at people walking off with my pen, so I taped a note on it that read: “Hello! My name is: Richard’s Pen”. Which seemed like just the right mix between

It’s not the DNC, it’s Democrats generally. We did have great choices, Warren among them.  And Pete and Kamala and others. We just spit them all out.

Here’s your daily reminder that we are currently living under a president who admits out loud that he wants to use the power of his office to force the Post Office to jack up prices because he thinks it will hurt Amazon, because Amazon is run by a guy who also owns a newspaper that prints true things about Trump that

Pence’s elbow-bumps with the suits around him looked so ridiculous, like awkward frat boys doing something new while making it clear they hate it. How hard is this — don’t fucking shake hands for a while.

I remember that time I randomly picked a tattoo from the wall at the tattoo parlor, it turned out to be a racist gang symbol and nobody told me for five years!

That part of you must have been the part paying attention when Trump was saying the “2.2 million” number twice as many times in the press conference as the “200k” number because he wanted to hammer home the point that but for his amazingness we would have been at 2.2 million.  It is nauseating to see him throw around

This is unfair criticism, these things are totally different. For one thing, caronavirus doesn’t just attack the gays.

I get what you mean but legally it actually kind of is. “Castle doctrine” means you have the right to use lethal force in your home — if you find an intruder in your living room, you pretty much have carte blanche to take whatever actions you deem appropriate, including jumping and beating them. “Stand your ground”

widely considered to be the series’ best (note to self: fact-check this later)

I don’t quite understand this. It didn’t have the brevity or feel of a traditional TV news weather remote, seemed more like extended footage that would be edited into a broadcast, in which case it wouldn’t have aired. How was this intended to go out? Do self-styled “reporters” just make their own traffic condition

I recently started hanging out in the Gamestop Reddit (for advice on a particularly annoying transaction) and found several threads of employees dumping on a crazy current mandate — they’re apparently required to remind every customer in the store at least once that they have a generous trade-in program for cell

SYG means you can use deadly force, even outside your home, if you fear for your life or are afraid of serious bodily injury. If you say you know for sure that Trayvon did not fear these things you are lying. And by extension you are saying that he attacked Zimmerman for absolutely no reason at all, which obviously

Right, his attorney decided not to go that route, but it figured into the detectives’ initial assessment because according to SYG the person doesn’t even get charged if that seems to be in effect, and I wasn’t making that point anyway, only saying that Trayvon *didn’t* have the chance to cite it, not that Zimmerman

Yeah you’re right..  I just assumed Sphero owned the rolling-thing-with-the-remote market.

This article should point out that, accurate or not, Judge Jackson in her pre-sentence remarks said explicitly that regardless of how poorly Trump and the DOJ acted, she was never inclined to give even close to the max sentence in this case.

Reply to the people asserting that Trayvon attacked Zimmerman: Funny how the guy who’s dead doesn’t get the benefit of his Stand Your Ground rights. Or is there something else different about him?
