1981 VW Rabbit had a misfire (who knew they still used breaker points). Catalytic converter was glowing orange. Started smoking, then undercoating caught fire. Looked exactly the same as this video. Tried to extinguish it with a dog’s water bowl I found on a nearby porch. No luck.

Overheated catalytic converter ignited the undercoating. Ask me how I know.
