That commercial was the stuff of nightmares.

Oh I'm not saying Trolls is better than Croods, I'm saying it's more popular with kiddos and thus probably making more money from their parents taking them. I haven't seen either, so I can't speak to quality at all, but quality isn't why Dreamworks green-lights projects.

The children definitely ARE wrong a lot so.

They're not minions so they're fine by me.

Maybe. I think there's something to be said for movies that have catchy pop songs that can play on the radio though (which Croods might have, I honestly never saw it).

I think Trolls might be legitimately popular among their target demographic though. The kids in the classes I teach in all recognize Trolls songs immediately but I don't think I ever heard them talk about the Croods.

That might explain why my levels of desire to see Dr. Who and Trolls are about equal.

I'm pretty sure that kid also didn't speak English very fluently at all given earlier interviews I saw with him, which made the whole bit feel really awkward. Like they had to have practiced out that joke beforehand and it FEELS very off-the-cuff in a bad way.

To be fair, these days it is kind of a one year gig.

There's nothing wrong with the occasional 'white dude feels' movie, though (not speaking as a white dude here, either). Sometimes I really enjoy a good "Mud". But I think you're right, there are outside circumstances here that make it all seem fairly unsavory.

And that's one thing. One. Thing.

Someone needs to make this movie.

Agreed.

I try not to judge the preferences of others.

Guitar guy had a sweet gig too.

I would 100% watch that.

By the time Purge 4 comes along it will just be surveillance footage from your average American town.

If it's bullshit people over the age of 40 like or can relate to then yes, it checks out. Otherwise no, totally awful, delete it now.

Hey, you have to admire that tenacity.
