Good?
Good?
The People V OJ Simpson set to high of a bar for this series. Nothing coming up really seems to have the impact, I mean Katrina doesn’t have the personal stakes except for New Orleans residents, and who the ever loving fuck is Gianni Versace?
I really hope the next paragraph looked something like this:
Hahah I know right?! “I place great value on my anonymity,” says Alec, 44, social security number 123-45-6789, single, always drinks one beer too many, loves dick jokes, great dad, avid hiker. “Our anonymity is very important to us.”
...file a lawsuit against porn workers deemed to be in violation of it, requiring their real names and addresses to become part of the public record.
this is very beside the point but
I hate when people willfully conflate movie characters with the actors who potray them. This isn’t Toby cry face, it’s Peter Parker/Spiderman cry face. I seriously doubt that Anthony Hopkins enjoys human liver with fava beans and a nice chianti, but I could be wrong.
Harvey’s always been known as a big “casting couch” guy - generally known for telling actresses that if they want oscars, they’ll fuck him
Gabrielle Union didn’t know of the accusations until after the movie was released.
Every single person that gave Polanski a standing ovation at the Oscars, this message applies to you. In the age of Google, there is no excuse for applauding a confirmed offender.
If I work with and/or hire and pay a known pedophile or sex predator that is actively raping children/men/women and I do nothing to stop it because I want to be famous, or I want to film this creep because they have a lot of talent I am DEFINITELY no better.
I disagree. KEEPING IN MIND that I am making no assumptions about your own history and ONLY reflecting my experience: as someone who was once victimized myself, I *absolutely* curse everyone who even smiled at my attackers when they KNEW. It was very much like being revictimized. They were just as bad.
If she names who it likely is (Harvey Weinstein) he will sue her into bankruptcy and she will never work in Hollywood again. Without concrete evidence against him people will just claim she’s lying & she will also be broke and jobless. I don’t blame her for not naming names.
Yeah. Because I’m like, “So...did you quit or keep the job after the assault?” We all need to be braver in calling out bad behavior, but we all know how power dynamics and the need to put food in our bellies allow folks to abuse with impunity.
It’s awesome that she’s doing this. It’s about time someone spoke up loudly and vehemently about it. And she looks like such a badass doing it with the shaved head. HOWEVER, I am baffled as to why she is flying so close to the sun without naming the names. Why say all she has said and not publicly identify her…
Not my favorite statement either. But I am also struggling to reword without understating the culpability of those who work with these people in a system that continues to laud offenders and shame victims.
He’s the biggest producer in Hollywood (and the most well known award season campaigner). Actors who want longevity in their careers (and fame AND Oscar noms/wins) will NEVER take a stand against him.. I’ll bet you a cold one that once Harvey dies, 6893481298598 negative stories about him will surface.
Right? In my world if the CEO was assaulting my coworkers i would report it...... to the police.
is it too much to ask another “feminist” in hollywwod to back Rose up and call out harvey as well? I get the icks thinking about ppl like jlaw with him, it’s pretty obvious.
I wish more actors would do stuff like this. But what armchair Hollywood Insiders on the Internet seem to usually say is that actors’ jobs depend on their willingness to look the other way on stuff like this. At least that’s what people seemed to be saying around the time that awful Roman Polanski petition was going…
