This episode could've gone in a predictable fashion - Xo just accepting the proposal, Petra just letting Rafael back into her life but the episode wisely went the other direction and I'm happy with that! Sure it's easy to just go with the easy decision but will it really make both women happy down the line, knowing

But knowing Barrow, it's not like he'll give her a straight answer too. But I think she would've figured out that nothing is going on. But heaven forbid Carson actually now starts consulting his wife on these matters.

I wonder why they never took that storyline with Blake anywhere, he is I think the most suited for Mary - smart, charismatic, naughty, wealthy. All things Mary would like, she is after all about financial security and prestige first and foremost. I don't think Matthew ever changed Mary except in his death.

And Anna too!! I hope Carson retires and then Barrow becomes the new butler.

It was infuriating how oblivious he was to her responses. And Daisy, seriously, maybe she is just being a biznatch because if Mr. Mason and Mrs. Pattmore should end up then she would be without any sort of inheritance? I mean it's not like Mrs. Pattmore is some sort of floozy who breaks hearts (ehem Mary).

Did you see the look on Bertie's face when Mary was being a total bitch to Edith? I was hoping he would put her in her place but then he is a guest so probably not. It's refreshing how Edith sees more than just someone's title when she likes someone. I guess when you are considered the ugly middle child you don't

Agree! I've always found him to be a tad creepy, even in TGW I was half expecting to see him hide a knife behind his suit or something. Also, speaking of dull, I found Matthew even duller than Henry.

Imagine if this ended with Alicia just day dreaming on "what if Eli didn't give me that phone when Will called"

He plotted with Jane to make Petra think he was in love with her. So he shouldn't be acting as if he didn't do her any wrong.

The initial spark was there between them and Greg, after seeing how crazy she can be still likes her, maybe now not as a potential love interest but maybe down the line when she snaps out of her Josh obsession. I mean what's the point of pining for someone who has tunnel vision over another?

yeah but on her own Petra is a good person, somehow she got sucked into her Mother's evil schemes and also as a way of getting back at Rafael who really used her. She's just been dealt bad cards so she had to everything to survive. Also their struggle to have a child was real, so that desire actually coming to

yeah but he's a Catholic priest so there can never be anything other than friendship between them. So I'm thinking a long lost bf? Hopefully someone like Hector Elizondo or better yet Edward James Olmos ooooooooorrrrrrrrrrrrr Steven Bauer. I'm just rattling off list of hot older Latino men. Lorenzo Lamas? (pushing it?)

I like how his own sad fate has not stopped him from being encouraging to everyone else around him who he feels still has a chance at life. Too bad he can't see any for his own. Also, I like how Barrow has softened up a bit, I think somehow people there understand the internal turmoil he's been going through and

I actually used that scene to tell my 4 yr old that that's what happens when you eat too much sweets. She looked pretty traumatized. Hopefully she'll remember that everytime she feels like indulging in a whole chocolate drumstick at 8pm without my knowledge.

We can add Magda to that list of annoying characters that make me not want to watch a tv show. Her accent is comical, as bad as Christina Hendricks doing a British accent in that movie with Elle Fanning.

So what could be the potential cliffhanger for this kind of show? Will she sign or not? Will she eat meat? Will she get out of bed for less than $10k?

I found him funny, the one I couldn't stand was Jean Ralphio's sister. She was hardly there I know but every time she was…..

I liked that movie a lot too and their storyline was as heartbreaking as Laura Linney's. We have to sometimes remind ourselves that Alan Rickman - as good as he was as a villain was as equally effective as a tender hearted normal person.

Well to be fair, her phoning it in didn't help her cause with the editor. It's so funny how they probably lived in a bubble at DA that when they do meet everyone who isn't landed or titled, they assume that these people will just be subservient to them.
Not overthinking, just realize why Mary is so annoyed with her.

Edith should just stay in London with the kid. I would be annoyed with her too if I was the editor. You own the newspaper (or magazine) you're telling the EIC what to do from the convenience of your home. he hates you not because you're a woman but because you're never EFFING at the business. And your flat is empty.
