Their scenes were always sad and I’m not sure why Bravo allows underage kids to be filmed. I guess they figure if their parents don’t care about their emotional well-being then why should they?

Biden VP is probably the only way we are going to get a woman to the White House. It could help break the mental block the country has with electing a woman president. It sucks that she and any woman Biden picks will be asked to go on clean up duty. But the most qualified woman ran, yet lost in 2016 and at least 3

Anyone looking at this situation already realizes Abrams has chosen this path in order to be pragmatic and advance her political career. “As tribute” seems like it’s just an infantile way of phrasing this. And yes, speaking as a rape victim myself, I can’t even wrap my mind around seeing all of these people talk about

He’s waiting until people have the mental bandwidth to give a shit about his VP pick. No sense in announcing it now when the whole country is on lockdown.

That’s all elections are. It’d be great if you could fix all the problems by electing a single person, but that isn’t how this works.

Jim Carrey. Joaquin Phoenix. Jared Leto. Christian Bale. Woody Allen. Marlon Brando.

He was most likely on a crystal meth binge with some underage teenage boys at some rich fuck’s mansion somewhere.

I loved Rocketman, thought it should be a musical (it would be perfect for Broadway) and was devastated it was virtually ignored by the Oscars (I’m sorry, but Rami Malek’s performance as Mercury was the worst of his career by far; whereas Taron Egerton is somehow a revelation with every single performance he gives and

I never thought about it at the time, but it’s wild how mediocre Singer’s work is outside of The Usual Suspects and maybe X2 (both probably haven’t aged well since). I only started noticing when I got older and the newer X-Men films were released.

We decide between two men who have been credibly accused of sexual assault. I'm sure this has been the case before in other elections. The difference now being we just know about it.

I didn’t vote for Biden in my primary. I didn’t support him until everyone else had dropped out. But the cold reality is it’s him or Trump now. Those are the two options. The primary is over. The general election has begun.

I do not discount this womans story, but I do find the timing interesting.

ALT is no sweetheart himself. He spent years by her side watching her work and didn’t have a problem with it. As the old saying goes, “tell me who your friends are and I’ll tell you who you are.” Now that she’s done to him what she did to so many others, he wants to complain.

I get that he’s conflating “Conde Nast” with “Vogue,” and that when he says that the fish rots from the head, he’s slamming Wintour and not Newhouse. But there is a problematic culture at Conde Nast beyond Vogue, and his refusal to see anything other than the rise and fall of his own personal fortunes is just more of

I really thought he was savvier than that.

YAAAAAAAS. Thank you. Accurate. Bingo. Yahtzee.

Such crap. I have personally seen him be SO bitchy to people at least a half-dozen times, at events and parties at which we both happened to be...and I hardly ever saw him, so if I saw just that many, then there were exponentially more.

Live by the sword, die by the sword...but don’t whine about it.

I buy this 100% to be accurate.  You nailed it!

Of course she’s not nice. You don’t make it that far as a woman in a cutthroat environment if you’re nice. But she’ll get more shit for it than other powerful men who are equally powerful and unapologetically ambitious.

Loved this piece. Just chiming in to point out that translator of Black culture who doesn’t necessarily speak to Black people is a huge niche for Black public intellectuals as well. Adolph Reed can be problematic but his piece critiquing folks like Dyson and Skip Gates is really interesting, along the same lines: https
