What an asshole comment.

Nothing warms my cockles quite like the heartbreak of thirsty self-unaware strangers.
Is this the end of a great love
Listen, she spends an entire song going on and on about how boring and provincial everyone in her town is.
a metaphor for an abusive kidnapper
she typed it like that :)
Yeah, isn’t it funny how the story ALWAYS seems to “call for” white people. Even when it’s set in old China or fuedal Japan or ancient Egypt, somehow white people always seem to be “called for.”
They’re talking about her persona, not her body. Similar to when a boring/mediocre white actor or entertainer gets compared to “white bread.” Buttered noodles = bland, boring, etc.
Considering being thin, white, blue eyed, and blonde is sort of the American ideal and has been for a very long time I think your outrage is misplaced.
Yeah, considering that Julianne Hough dressed up in blackface for Halloween in 2013, I wouldn’t hesitate to assume that her discomfort owed to (at the very fucking least) racial insensitivity.
Yup. Whenever someone starts with “trust me”, I don’t. Julianne Hough is insufferable and her lame-ass contextualization was elementary. We know what you meany, trick.
A.) Walking, talking bowl of buttered noodles = perfection
TELL IT! So much yes.
Nah she meant what she meant. A woman whose body is outside the realm of haughty white chaste sexuality is to be admonished to emphasize how it’s wrong and you wouldn’t dare cause you’re “good” or whatever bullshit thing white women have used to belittle women of color because they’re threatened that they won’t be in…
Is Julianne the same bitch that wore blackface for a costume?
And when someone takes a character that doesn’t have to be white (like Queen Elizabeth I would have to be) and makes them a minority, white people freak out. I’m white and I’m really tired of seeing white people on everything. I work with kids and I want all of my students to see themselves in characters. UGH!
Please explain to me how that would be “forcing it in”? No one is asking for a 3rd of the movie to be devoted to explaining how and why a POC ended up among all the white folks. Just that they’re there. It changes nothing so long as the writing remains consistant with the character.
Yeah, a black guy threatening the whiteys. Maybe the hero will be a cop.
It’s a made up story/movie about children with superpowers who live on an island in a time loop, managed by a woman who turns into a bird and the thing you find unbelievable is that people of color existed in the UK in the 40's?! Oooooookay.....
Last I checked there was still plenty of PoC in England during the 40s...I mean, we even have records dating black people to being at Elizabeth 1's court
