I agree to a point. But the game pad being portable would of been the killer app they needed. System design vs system feature. The features would of sold it even if it looked like a Wii.

TBH. Most people just thought it was a upgraded Wii , much like the ps4pro. And tbh it really is. The reason the Wii U failed is because the game pad wasn’t a portable. Period. If the game pad could load your game and take it with you( basically what the switch does) it would of sold a ton.
