I know that time’s a factor in this final season, but aren’t there some implications for Arya and Gendry’s hookup from an Iron Throne perspective? The series always makes a big deal out of heirs and claims and whatnot, so why wouldn’t a Baratheon/Stark tryst cast a long shadow here?

They kept mentioning the crypts, and how safe they will be. Which means they absolutely will not be safe at all.

Legit laughing out loud, & I loved the way they let the scene play out & just let Tormund drink & drink.

The absolute gall to use two of the final 6 episodes to simply let our favorite characters chill at Winterfell — and to somehow turn out one of the show’s finest hours in the process. A lot of people are going to die next week. They wanted us to spend time with everybody, so the deaths will mean something.

And they really let the scene breathe, took their time. It was lovely, all around.

Jaime is (or...was, I guess) a human trash can but gah, I just love him so much. Especially in his scenes with Brienne tonight. She makes me so happy.

The actors and directing really sold the mood of dread; I do not think that all of them are going to die, but I believed that they did.

This was the perfect episode. It was light on plot progression, but it had character development in spades. All of the meetups and reunions were given their just dues. A lot of standout meetings and implications to come for endgame.
