It’s an old school Multiplayer vibe, people are so use to having different equipment/wepons to choose from, DOOM MP is all about guns and fragging, plain, yes, but simple, putting everyone on the same level.
I REDBOX’d it and fell in LOVE (stop playing when I reached HELL). I’m an old school gamer, I had the original doom on my PC, way back when.
