No, they won’t. Even if they did would people care about women’s soccer, or pro women’s soccer? I seriously doubt it. You have to put a product that people are interested in. MLS (the men’s pro soccer league in the US) does not because they are more interested in making money first, rather than developing talent.

The USWNT basically generates revenue in the World Cup cycle as well (there is no other reason for national teams to exist). Additionally, the USSF creates totally bogus, rigged “competitive” tournaments like SheBelieves Cup, Tournament of Nations because that is how the USSF makes money, treating the USWNT like a toy…

There is no money in women’s football. The public demand is not as strong(or barely alive on a good day) and so you cannot pay what is not there. Or, you find someone who is willing to sink a lot of money and doesn’t mind not seeing a profit (Oprah, Beyonce, Taylor Swift-those three alone could buy a women’s club team…

Well said. You can’t do that much about limiting goals, but you can temper your celebrations against an overmatched opponent, who feel the celebrations from the crowd against their bones.  It was not a good look for team USA.
