He's marginally more tolerable in Avenue 5 than in his other roles and I'm not sure how he managed even that. I think it's because he plays the same jackass he always plays, but all the other characters hate him as much as I do.

I can’t fucking stand him, he has one note and it’s annoying as hell. I guess he’s  consistent at hitting that note pretty relentlessly, so there's that.

Nobody deliberately incurs a loss for the tax break. The loss is ALWAYS more than what you save on your taxes. A write off doesn’t directly reduce the total taxes you owe, it reduces your taxable income. Taxes equal a fraction of taxable income, so the amount you save won’t be worth it. Conversely, it’s actually good

That’s actually how tax write offs work. You have to take a loss to take a write off, and the loss will always exceed what you save on a write off.

So many new logos are flat and boring these days, but that one is great! It has some texture, it feels like it has some mass, and it even has multiple colors.

I know right? A good controller is actually pretty damn reliable because it’s so damn frustrating when it doesn’t work and screws up your whole game*. If the user interface between the controller and the submarine is designed well I don’t see why you couldn’t use one to control a submarine like that.

You can keep saying that there are only two genders all you like, it won't make it correct. The subject is much more complicated than that, whether you like it or not.

He, she, Mr and Mrs. are just fine for you. They are NOT just fine for many other people. Walk a mile in their shoes and I bet you’ll understand why other pronouns are necessary.

Seriously, if there’s a non zero chance of #2 they I would bring some sort of weapon to speed things along. I’m not even joking here, that’s straight nightmare fuel.

The controller seems like the least of their concerns if you ask me.

Isn't this what we wanted Facebook to do all along? I'd rather have people get directed to fluffy feel good stories than stuff that pisses them off and contributes to the polarization in our politics. Of course it's still not good that Facebook controls so much of what people see, but this seems like it's at least

This reminds me of the early automatic transmissions, which used a different fluid so the shifts would be a bit harsher because car companies thought drivers would want to feel the car shifting like they were used to in a manual. Once someone came out with an automatic that shifted more smoothly everyone loved it,

If anyone's on the fence about Cunk on Earth it's well worth a try, you won't regret it!

I'm pretty sure that guy doesn't really like Abba, and that Dancing Queen is the first song name to come to mind; he just wanted to say anything to get her to stop crying. Cunk on Earth does this better than any other show since Ali G.

Cunk on Earth is hilarious. The way she wanders aimlessly through historic sites always gets me, along with all the other random documentary tropes she makes fun of. Plus the call backs to "Pump up the Jam"... It doesn't get any better than that for me.

The Last Starfighter is great. I picked it up on Blu-ray a while back and at least for me, the effects still hold up. I was a worried that the higher resolution would reveal the cheesiness of it all but in a way the cleaner image made the wire-frame CGI better. Not more realistic, but personally I will always be able

I think the election story line going nowhere is kinda the point; the kids make a big deal about their role on the election but ultimately nothing they did actually mattered. That applies to pretty much everything they do; the people who actually wield power (Mattson, Logan, Menken, etc.) Play along and let them think

Every last cost that can be possibly be justified as a “business expense” goes through Waystar, to avoid income taxes. On paper the characters have relatively low income and don’t spend much money.

99% of the time laminated menus are perfectly clean. Maybe they’re a bit wet if they just got wiped down but I can’t think of the last time one was actually sticky.

Surely they can find someone with more polished credentials who would still be more than willing to toe the line, even if it wouldn’t necessarily be an existing character in the show. It would be hilarious if the new CEO was just some random corporate drone from a completely unrelated company that the board found
