Corporations are amoral organizations that only exist to make money. they spend a lot of money and effort in making us view them as more than that, but that’s literally all they are and can ever be. 

But if someone gets cut out of a movie is it asking too much for the studio to not show that person in the trailer? It’s really not worth a whole lawsuit but it’s ridiculous how corporations do whatever they want and their whole attitude is “if you don’t like it, sue me”.

You’re correct in practice but completely wrong on principle. It’s not OK for advertisement to be dishonest and letting movie trailers off the hook helps normalize the bullshit that other corporations get away with in ads about much more important subjects all the time.

In theory if everyone stuck with the buffer approach you could eliminate the rubber band effect. Traffic would flow better in general and some traffic jams would be eliminated altogether. I don't think humans are capable of this but when true self driving cars are developed it will be easy. 

I drive a stick so if traffic is just between stop and go and crawling I’ll definitely try to leave a buffer instead of clutching every 30 seconds. But certainly not to the point that 3-4 cars pile up behind me, that’s ridiculous.
