DITTO. Why Jenner or the Hadids get cover real estate when LUPITA exists is maddeningly baffling. There’s ‘pretty,’ and then there’s ‘breathtakingly beautiful,’ and Lupita demonstrates that there’s a pretty wide gulf between the two.

Exactly.

Sad and awful but 100% true.

Not just you.

I was gutted when he died. I actually couldn’t believe it - even as they showed his body, floating in the water *forever* after the struggle, I was just like NO. YOU CANNOT. YOU CANNOT KILL HIM OFF. It was inconceivable to me that the story could continue without him at the center.

I totally will! Thank you again :)

He is SO. AMAZING. in Bloodline. See SadieMae’s comment above - he’s just extraordinary. He does things with the character that defy description - it’s so much more than just ‘sympathetic villain’ (you can’t even really describe him as a villain, even though he does terrible things.) He’s awful, even terrifying, but

I only watched part of the first episode. If he figures meaningfully in the second season, I am definitely here for that. Thanks!

I hadn’t! And I am ETERNALLY grateful to you for pointing me to it. WATCHING THIS VERY NIGHT.

No! Someone else just mentioned Animal Kingdom and now I’m looking it (and Lost River) up! I may interrupt my series 2 Luther binge to get a new Ben Mendelsohn fix. Looooove him. (Thank you!)

EXACTLY. You captured it perfectly. He’s all of those things, without even the tiniest fraction of a false note. I was attracted and repulsed and fascinated and gripped and afraid and amused and utterly, utterly convinced by his character. For me, too - best performance by an actor, male or female, that I have ever

And a night nurse, and housekeeping help, and sleep consultants, and trained cloth diaper origamists. And, I’m guessing, a partner who wasn’t interested in being hands-on with his babies in the newborn stage. So, yeah, why would dads need parental leave? Why would adoptive parents need leave? And single moms probably

Yep. It was a classic, perfect, brilliant one-shot miniseries that should have been allowed to stay that. Now I’m just kind of mad at it for letting me down with its lame attempt at a second season. (And agree that it beats Broadchurch in this disappointment. By far.)

I met her once, socially. She absolutely presents as extremely poised and intelligent - and, at least that in that particular social setting, very liberal (that is, as liberal as one can get on the Upper East Side). Such that when her father’s shit started rolling downhill, I thought that there was no way that she

“What Trump proposed is basically a form of extended “sick” leave (for lack of a better term) for post-partum moms.”

The older brother (Ben Mendelsohn) was the best part of that show and it got super less interesting when (SPOILER) his character was killed off. (Seriously, he was epic. I recommended the show to people just on the basis of his performance. Creepy but compelling all at once. Masterful acting.)

Ben Mendelsohn (sp?) was THE best part of that show and it died with his character. Loved the first season, in large part because of him. Fell asleep before the end of the first episode of the second season, because although Coach Taylor is bangable, he’s boring. Big fucked-up brother Danny was EVERYTHING.

EXACTLY. It doesn’t need to be shaming: “I like that you picked up Jane’s idea, Rossifer - she made some great points and we really should run with it.” And you look like a champ for being the guy who credits and supports other’s ideas. WIN ALL AROUND.
