Thomas the Tank Engine. He narrated (a season of?) that. I DELIGHTED in that when my son was in his Thomas phase. DELIGHTED. I always imagined him suddenly slipping into his Seven Words You Can’t Say on TV routine. Although it would have been Seven Things You Can’t Say On Thomas, which would have been even better.

I was there, and can tell you that while yes, wee Alanis was hard to match, Taylor was ALL IN. And hearing Taylor Swift harmonize with Alanis on the line ‘and are you thinking of me when you fuck her’ was like the apex of all pop musical things.

I was there - with my nine year old, who didn’t know who Alanis was but thought she looked like ‘one of the girls from Haim.’ I was screaming my lungs out, singing along with every word, and I was not alone, not by a long shot. That said, there was a pretty big contingent of moms there, so. THE MOMS LOVED YOU ALANIS.

The amazingest :)

I met her in June. A friend was hosting a talk with her in New York and offered to introduce me. I FLEW THERE (hell yes I did) to take her up on this. It was SO WORTH IT. I like this story very much.

This is the most correct comment in this whole thread.

Oh my god that is amazing. I never knew what that little camera icon in the search bar was for (and never thought to click it) and NOW I DO AND SHOPPING IS CHANGED FOREVER.

I TOTALLY thought this too. Like it was all some kind of fucked up gender reveal announcement.

This is everything.

We did sitters and activities for kids at our wedding (19 years ago!), and because it was at a hotel, the hotel handled everything, including using the same babysitting service they use for regular guests - which was a bonded/insured service. They used an adjacent room to the main event, so the kids could come out to

I want to see this happen.

YES. I will sign this petition.

Not necessarily. We’ve done that with both our kids: one responds and will try anything once (loves sushi, pho, real ramen); the other is all NOPE and sticks to spaghetti with butter, plain hamburgers, cut steak. They’ve been exposed to the same range of foods, but are very different human beings.

I want this to be real. Make it real.
