The Gift of Fear has a long section on restraining orders actually having the opposite intended effect, actually. Any interaction with the victim, positive OR negative is what the stalker is looking for from their behavior.

Autism isn't the mental illness discussed here- it's actually OCD. That he also has autism is incidental.
