I was driven home from the hospital in an Opel Kadett wagon from the 70's. My Dad finally gave up on Opels in the mid 80s and bought a 1980 VW Vanagon. By that time I had a brother, and another on the way. That van lasted until the early 90s when it blew a cylinder, and we limped it about 100 miles home on 3/4 of

'99 Civic EX. 2-door, 5-speed. My first car that wasn't a pile of junk. I put over 100,000 miles on it going back and forth from college to home pretty much every weekend to see my then-girlfriend-now-wife, and I'd still be driving it today if I didn't take it deer hunting at 75MPH on Interstate 55. Didn't ever

@NEVista: I would advise you start buying your replacement engine parts now. Who knows if they'll be around later.

@mattattaxx: Especially since those 4.0 AMC I6's will still be running strong then.

@vein11: I would have mailed it via USPS to the most remote FBI field office I could find. If the agents tried to stop it en-route, they'd be filling out inter-departmental paperwork for a month. If they came after me, I could just say that I knew it was theirs, so I sent it back to them. Best case, they have to

@cybershrike: No, it's slang for "we just put another tracking device on your car, and tried to hide it better, but don't be on your guard and try to find it, because we don't really care either way."

Jackson's on the 20, not Franklin. It would be "a buck over a Jackson."

Do I get a star if I say CTS-V Wagon? I don't care if I do, cause I'm gonna say it anyway. CTS-V Wagon!!!! They won't sell well, because wagons never do in the US. The production run will be small. Everyone that buys one will love the hell out of it. Instant cult classic.

Cool little toy. And the, ahem, "widened" wheelbase on the rear end might stop some of the flippity-overness.

@blu_goku: Nice. I posted it earlier, and picked that exact photo. Great minds, huh?

@VeeArrrSix: Just saw it. Can't unsee! Ahhhhh! The goggles do nothing! Must bleach eyes now!

@R-GTI: Ah, yes. When I saw this - [jalopnik.com] here awhile ago, all I could think was: "That. Looks. So. Badass."

I would suggest the Delorean DMC-12. It wasn't very good, but, it got it's 15 minutes of fame, and now, everyone that grew up in the 80's wanted one at one point in their lives. To quote the intro, it was the "first of something new." Now, they have a small but rabid cult following.

@ddhboy: Wind turbines are routinely shut down during periods where adverse weather conditions would damage them, or as a fail-safe in case of mechanical problems. I don't know the particulars, but I do know it involves a break system located in the turbine housing, plus, some of the newer models can adjust the angle

@fhrblig: I think they look great on that car. They were going for just-a-bit-of-ridiculous, and they hit the nail on the head.

I will be looking for a vehicle again in about 5 years. I think, after the depreciation hit, one of these might be right on the radar. Minivan utility with 12 second quarter mile? Yes, please!

@CMYKfellow: There's actually a reason for the "Mobile" thing. It's useful to phones that can grab that block and add it as a contact — all phones I've ever used classify it as 'mobile', even here in the good 'ol USofA.
