Bash, serious question, is there any website where I can get information on job openings in Japan, especially for gaming or media related? Or do I have to regularly stalk the websites of companies I’m interested in?

Erm, no.

A food product with a taste that is based on another food product with a taste that is based on another food product with a taste...

I don’t know why but my brain went straight to Katamari Damacy when I see this pic.

No need to play the first one since the story is not that complicated, just know that the protagonist is friends with 2 yokais, the red cat and the ghost, who also live together with him/her (but his/her parents, and most people can’t see them).

Japanese-ness?

The Japanese VAs for the game in the TGS event said they’ve only recorded for the trailer, while recording for the actual game will start at the end of the year. Kojima has told them nothing about the game or their characters as of now, only handing them the trailer’s script with no characterization info at all.

Dragon Quest XI. The music is abysmal and the plot is better enjoyed if I don’t use my brain, but there’s a certain charm to it that wipes all those negative points away.

Hilarious and historical.

I just played the demo myself, and yeah, the basics from 6/Kiwami 2 are still there, but there’s more flair.

I still can’t get over the fact that they managed to rope Kimura Takuya who is like the equivalent of Tom Cruise/Brad Pitt of Japan. The game’s gonna give the studio lots of new fans. I like it.

I... absolutely fail to understand why this release is necessary. For Switch I can understand, but PS4 and Xbox One? Isn’t there a full version of the FFXV already, with better graphic and more contents?

Bioware is really putting their neck out with this. I can’t imagine people who played Bioware games for the characters and world building ala ME and DA series will be convinced to play this. I’m not.

Boo, no gameplay footage at all.

To be fair, 1 and 2 were written by a different writer. They also feel like “old school action movies” before the series truly expanded by adding new characters and really fleshing them out, not just zoom through them, in later games.

I... still listen to Arashi actually. Was a big fan of them when I was younger but nowadays I listen to them just to check what they’re up to.

Whoa, Tokio is a 4-man band now?

Between this, World End Heroes and the newly released Idol Fantasy, Square Enix is really flexing their mobile game muscle recently. Even diving into the otome/dating sim genre.

*gasp* Did you say Yakuza?

I see where you’re coming from, and sadly the newer Yakuza games are still structured like that. A chapter always starts a long story cutscene ->free roam time, in which you’re given a pointer of where to go to continue the story -> arrive at destination, have a long battle/boss battle-> some more story cutscene->next
