Starting from Rurouni Kenshin, now this and Bleach, I feel like Japan is trying to cash in on the people who grew up with these franchises and will definitely go watch the movies now as adults. I know I will.

That looks... a bit wrong.

Trails in the Sky on PC. I’m still trying to figure out why so many people praised this game. It has all this wonderful little details, true, but nothing feels groundbreaking or super interesting either. Or maybe it’s just not for me.

Mmm, sashimi anyone? *chomp*

Prepare your tear ducts people.

Having a blast with Persona 5. Almost 15 hours and I’m still seeing tutorial messages.

Agree 100% about the music at a dungeon’s end.

This is just my opinion through the filter of my personal preference for music so your miles may vary, but yeah, both the battle themes and the background are rather meh compared to Persona 4, even 3.

Basically you’ll be pressing buttons less times in every enemy encounter.

Sure, why not?

I’m 10 hours in myself. I agree with your saying that the game provides a great window into Japanese everyday life, particularly as a high school student. Or just high school life in general. It evokes some genuine feeling that anyone who has gone through teenage years will be able to relate to.

Picking up my PS4 slim right now.

Holding my copy in my hands right now. It just got delivered today.

My copy will arrive next Monday.

Hmm, true. I myself have learned to set my brain to different expectations between the more mature Western games and Japanese games.

The story (both in the game and anime) indeed can feel like a slog in the beginning. First half of it is basically laying the foundation of all things, then once the second half starts, it’ll suddenly change in tone and gets much more interesting.

Thing is, the retailer sells games but not game consoles, meaning this bundle won’t even be there for me to upgrade my order to.

Persona 5 protagonist has saved the 5000 Yen lady from confinement hence the 5000 Yen price cut. That leaves the 5000 Yen notes bare and then she’s free to dance, play piano and play Persona 5.

Unfortunately, I can’t.
