I live in minneapolis and it took me three days to hear about this. I agree that people will think about it differently, but it’s definitely getting less attention and I doubt any highways will be shut down for her.

Not just black. Somali-American. I’m pretty sure Somalia is a majority Muslim country and that Somalis speak Arabic. Which would make it one of those scary terrorist countries. That’s how we measure terrorism now, right?

You missed one: the people that unilaterally defend the police when they shoot black people will agree that this particular officer was actually in the wrong. But only because this officer was apparently a black Somali-American man and she was a white Australian woman. The crazy conservatives already think this fact…

God, on one hand I hope that this will help do *something* about the problem we have with police brutality in this country.

But on the other hand it pisses me off and scares me so, so much that it may only happen because of a white person when people of color have been facing this for so long.
