I think it’s really interesting to see which elements of Logan’s business acumen have been passed down to his kids, and how that affects each one’s plausibility as a successor candidate. More and more they all seem equally flawed in different ways. Such great, nuanced characters!

They ought to give the drama awards to whichever one doesn’t win the comedy ones. Both shows were on such a different level this year .

My favorites by category (at least the categories where I’ve seen enough to have a real opinion):

The Sopranos. That final run of 9 is just perfect and has such an undercurrent of dread and finality throughout.

I will forever associate Cyriak with some of my earliest times smoking weed back in high school. His stuff, Adult Swim, and various trippy movies were fundamental in my early experiences.

Fly isn’t my absolute favorite episode of that show, but the context surrounding it vs. this are quite different in my view. Breaking Bad season 3 the high point of the show for me, and Fly was an interesting change of pace for it, going for style points at a time it could afford to.

I’m in the same boat. Elisabeth Moss is one of my all-time favorite actors, and the first season was incredibly powerful stuff, but the ending of last season was such a letdown that I just... don’t have the energy to face the grim slog of this show again. Last season felt like so much work just to more or less stand

I recently started a Parks & Rec rewatch for the first time since the allegation floodgates opened, and I was struck at the difference in how I felt seeing Aziz onscreen (no change really, he’s still great in the show) and seeing Louis CK (extremely uncomfortable and vaguely threatened). Helped clarify what I thought

Yeah, this was never a premise with a ton of longevity. I’m glad they’ll get to end it without it running totally off the rails.
It’s the rare sitcom that you can recommend without a caveat for the first season and/or the later ones.

Sounds like all of my fears for this show in the wake of the season 2 finale have come true. The show derives so much of its power from the danger the state poses to the characters - and it’s simply immersion-breaking to have June able to return to being a Handmaid after shipping a baby out of the country, to say

Hard agree. As much as a long-running sitcom needs to anchor itself in character building episodes in order to not run off the rails, it’s nice to see some pure comedic chaos again to take things up a notch. This season has been solid, but kind of... subdued? This was never a mean or heavy show, but much of the season

I object to the presence of Ghost in the header picture.

I love how much this show invests in the details of micro-interactions, facial expressions, little gestures and touches, and various physical objects around the characters. The overt dialogue and plot are very nearly superfluous to the sort of textural experience.

The entire sequel trilogy has had pretty weak titles, IMO.

This episode perhaps best distilled the strengths and flaws of season 7.

I’m partial to Hardhome personally, but it’s a strong #2. The wait for the Dothraki to peek over the horizon, and then Drogon finally getting a chance to prove how horrific the dragons are as weapons of war....oof.

I know it’s foolish to get my hopes up at this point, but someone has to have a somewhat positive ending, right? As brutal as the series has been in the past, I have a hard time imagining pure tragedy for everyone left. Sansa and Gendry both feel like decent bets to get solid endings - in fact, I think Sansa is the

This show has gotten a bit weird. When it’s firing on all cylinders, it really works (like when Selina bullies Rhea Seehorn into getting her a drink - just a delightful blend of thinly-veiled malice, jealousy, and narcissism) but other aspects are starting to feel a little hollow. Jonah himself is as funny as ever,

I think I agree. It’s got more character and plot meat than the other presumptive candidates, like the big battle episodes and the Red Wedding. It balances plot twists, sheer spectacle, and character arcs better than any other episode of the show. There isn’t a wasted moment and it’s absolutely packed with

My pet prediction is that Gendry and Sansa end up married. It would:
