Yeah, Boardwalk had one of the best casts I've ever seen on a TV show. Almost to the point that it worked against the show - a lot of the cast was way overqualified for their roles, which made it disappointing when some of the minor characters would be mostly ignored for long periods of time.

Also thought this was weird. I guess there's strength in numbers if they are threatened, but still, it seems silly to send not only your A team of fighters, but pretty much your 1-4 as far as general leadership. Rick, Michonne, Maggie, Glenn? Even Daryl as your dark horse candidate? No one else has the Charisma stats

So much stupid bullshit in this episode, and not really redeemed by the satisfying-but-ridiculous ending. Also, does anyone think this show has ever gone five consecutive minutes without either violence or an overwrought monologue?

It can be two things.

For people who have seen it: how is the 3D version? Please no spoilers, haven't seen it yet, just trying to decide which version to see. I've seen some movies with great 3D and others where it was just sort of distracting/badly done, not firmly on one side or another of that whole debate.

I'm still really behind on this year's TV, just too much to get to, but here's my list:

Good news. It's always infinitely preferable to have the writers go into the season knowing it'll be the last. I have a feeling that a surprise cancellation would be even more irritating than normal considering how much ambiguity this show regularly traffics in.

Let the mystery be.

So THAT'S why people stopped coming to my movie nights. I was so confused when they kept asking me what was wrong with my speakers.

Holy shit, Liv Tyler. Just bone-chilling. She feels like such a real fanatical cult leader, to the point where I felt physically ill at times. The school bus scene was absolutely harrowing.

Most underwhelming midseason finale yet. I didn't think "1-2k zombies + breached wall + no time to prepare" could possibly be boring. It's a (half) finale, for crying out loud! No main character has died all season! Something will happen!

Please more Lincoln. He's the third-best character easily.

If you squint real hard at this trailer, it kind of looks like the Age of Mythology movie that nobody ever wanted.

Zelda: Wind Waker for me. Especially when contrasted with how bright and cartoony it is visually, and how positive most Zelda endings are, it's incredibly dark, sad, even complex by the series' standards. From the moment you step out onto the final battle with Ganondorf, it goes against the grain of a Zelda game.

So… where were they leading the zombie horde TO, exactly? I kept waiting for the reveal of some clever trap at the endpoint, but the plan was just, march them a few dozen miles down the road and hope for the best? Really?

You know, I got a bit irritated with this show's plotting last year, but damn if this wasn't an utterly fantastic season opener. Maybe I'm a sucker for getting hyped, but this show is just so unlike anything else on TV. I mean, that opening sequence alone was completely bonkers in a way that also felt totally in line

I'm actually excited for the new season. Mostly because Lennie James.

It's a shame, her real accent is absurdly cute. Now I have no reason to see this.

Who the fuck's idea was it to put out sixteen minutes of content in sixteen one-minute chunks? Is it supposed to build suspense? You can't really extend standard cliffhanger logic when you never have enough time to get invested in the first place.

Not technically this weekend, but I finally took the plunge and bought myself a New 3DS, which should be here next Wednesday. Pretty excited - my last handheld was the original DS, and between Smash, new Pokemon games, and Zelda, I'll have plenty of stuff to keep myself occupied.
