Because Americans still believe that upward mobility is something that can be realized by anyone. And when someone comes along with a good sales pitch, they forget about any critical thinking skills they have.

And predatory on the very people who can least afford it. I know one woman that has jumped from one MLM scheme to another for the past two years. She and her husband can barely make ends meet as it is, and she spends most of her time on Facebook begging people to buy whatever she’s selling so she can hit her sales

Carla here again, it’s that restaurant’s top sex story, or it was as of a few years ago. The top assault story goes to the host who got into a fist fight with our kitchen manager and ended up putting him into a choke hold. He was fired on the spot, but called in a week later asking for a reference for a job at another

Carla here, and that’s pretty much it. It was before my time, but I worked with the manager who caught him during the morning prep. He said he could barely get out “You’re fired” between bouts of laughter and never saw the guy again.

When I started working out I had goals based on clothes size and weight, but as time went by and I found a program I really loved, those things didn’t matter as much and there are other things I take pride in. I never managed to run an entire mile in high school, now I can do it in under 10 minutes. I lift weights and

Most of those pharmacologically active molecules in plants are their way of trying to keep you from eating them. Nature doesn’t give a rat’s ass about you.

I was talking about the concept in general, not this case in particular. That’s why I said “but this is ridiculous”. I don’t care about the weight of the person serving me food, nor if my bank teller has visible tattoos or if a grocery checker has green hair. But I do think it’s reasonable to require that people tie

I can understand appearance standards to a degree, mostly as they relate to health and safety, but this is ridiculous. Setting aside their bullshit idea of a small weight range for attractiveness (a 7% gain is a pretty small change), it’s perfectly normal for people to gain some weight as they age, particularly during

I was considering wandering around Whidbey this weekend to get out of dodge, but I’m reconsidering. Bunnies are cute. Tularemia not so much.

I have a soft spot for the lavender store in Coupeville.

Where on Whidbey are they congregating?

I’ve read in other comments that this city doesn’t have a stellar reputation when it comes to racial sensitivity. Given the situation, it looks like they got confortable being assholes and didn’t bother to try to cover their asses.

They may have a hard time doing that. If they had reason to believe it was an explosive device of any kind, they should have evacuated the school and called in the bomb squad. If they didn’t, they shouldn’t have handcuffed him and dragged him in for questioning.

I don’t think this qualifies as suspected terrorism any more than the pop tart gun qualified as an attempted school shooting.

What about during questioning? Does that count as custody? Or have I been watching too many legal shows?

And refused to let him call his parents. Isn’t it illegal to question a minor without a parent, guardian or lawyer present?

I’m glad you’re getting to him young. I can’t seem to convince people that sugar is sugar, and whether it’s from sugarcane, corn, fruit, beets, trees or succulent plant, eating a diet laden with it isn’t all that healthy.

Almost all sugars, grains, legumes are to be avoided, as well as starchy vegetables like potatoes. Sounds pretty similar to a low carb diet to me.

I think almond flour crepes sound good too, but I’m not going to pretend they’re any healthier than something with flour or another grain.

Paleo is just a low carb diet with a naturalistic fallacy veneer.
