Fandoms are a constant embarrassment. Period. What might be a fun way to connect with others to enjoy something together has been a cover for this kind of crap for decades. I don’t differentiate between franchises in that regard nowadays. Whenever fandoms are involved, toxic (or even sometimes criminal) behaviour

Just don’t expect much from the story or ending. The gameplay was the main focus of that game, and it was fun, but what little story there was was ultimately very disappointing.

I didn’t mind Kiefer in the role when we heard him ACTUALLY voicing Big Boss. Too bad that only accounted for some radio calls at the end and that one sequence at the beginning/end. Can’t even properly compare the two of them.  Lamest “twist” ever.

Not when you actually take everything into account. He’s not being sent to prison, and can be released if it’s determined he’s no longer a threat to society. He is pretty much flat out stating that he’s going to do it again the second he gets a chance, so why just let him out? He’s also shown violent tendencies, so

Kinda sucks that gaming media is complicit with the criminal act that took place, but it’s not surprising.

While I wouldn’t have put it past them to do that at any point, I still don’t like calling this “leaks”

That is NOT what the argument is and you damn well know that. Buying up a developer or two is perfectly fine and has been for decades. Buying up mega-publishers with dozens upon dozens of IPs that have existed on multiple consoles for many years as well as all the developers under those publishers is a BAD precedent

I imagine they decided that they should create a newer version of Online. That’s why GTAV had releases in three generations of consoles before there was even a whiff of a sequel. As long as they have people giving them money continuously every day, there’s not exactly an incentive to jump into the next game.

As much as I 100% agree that in-game ads are a terrible, terrible idea, hearing any complaints about ads from Kotaku is….let’s say “ironic”…

What button? I can hardly see anything with ads taking up 75% of my mobile screen, I’m surprised I was able to read your comment.

He didn’t “apologize for his actions” if he plead not guilty. I’m sure he said sorry but it was in no way for his actions. Maybe that he got caught, or like is quoted at the end about how “he got hurt”, which isn’t the same as apologizing for your actions. It’s more just trying to imply that he got hurt somehow and it

2’s the biggest game out of those though. I definitely would prefer that over the other two. But that just comes down to personal preference. Objectively speaking, it makes sense that they picked 2, given its popularity. I mean, it’s the game that featured Pyramid Head after all, which is probably THE iconic character

Hopefully this patch makes Act 3 less of a buggy mess. Didn’t read the notes because, well, look at that length. But I’m currently holding out on continuing until it’s fixed up more. Maybe I’ll come back when I’m done with Spider-Man 2 and hopefully these fixes didn’t create new issues as well. Great game, but not

The outfit was stupid and the reason given was stupid. I mean, who is he actually fooling with that excuse (besides people in denial)? The camera angles alone give away the real reason.

I wouldn’t think of an expansion before fixing the massive amount of bugs (particularly ones that pop up towards the end of act 2 and into act 3). ESPECIALLY the one that crashes my PS5 at regular intervals. They’ve acknowledged that one but still no fixes outside of disconnecting from the internet apparently. Don’t

The circumstances for this don’t really prove anything. It’s the first AAA exclusive for Xbox in how long? If you starve someone for days then give them a meal, expect them to eat it quickly. Not that I care that much about this debate, just pointing out the flaw in the logic.

I’m having trouble figuring out the “5 lines of dialogue” bit there. Are you trying to say that she only had that? Because she definitively did not. She had TONS of dialogue in the original game, she was a major character (albeit one that was exclusively in codecs, but probably appeared more than anyone else in those

Microsoft’s current strategy is the equivalent of someone losing a game of Risk and then deciding to flip the board.

I was worried about that when playing the first game. You do all this and build your characters up, just to have to do it all again the next chapter? I don’t see how that’s not going to get tired and repetitive. It both makes sense and doesn’t at the same time

Well, he DID say they were going to have a “problem” if the officers attempted to grab him right before that. That’s a pretty big threat to make when you also have a gun not in its holster.
