Can you actually humble brag and talk about a tuba at the same time?

I never saw anything at Max's (at least I don't think so - - maybe I'm mixing up the venues) - - everything I saw down there (Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr, The Feelies, Pixies) was at Trax. So maybe they played again in 1990?

At their best, though, they are described as transcendent.

I saw Dinosaur Jr on the Green Mind tour. Not sure if they always did this, but Murph was on the same plane as Mascis and Mike Johnson. That killed my hearing . . . but My Bloody Valentine opened up, so it was already shredded ahead of time. I went to my classes the next day and couldn't hear a thing that my

Along with Mudhoney, Guided by Voices and Superchunk, I saw Sonic Youth and Pavement more than anybody - - and I saw Sonic Youth with Pavement at the Hollywood Bowl with No Age opening up (I think in 2010 or 2011).

I saw them between Surfer Rosa and Doolittle as the opening band for The Cure and Love and Rockets at the Meadowlands and then saw them as headliners in a club in Charlottesville where they did the whole alphabetical order/no chit-chat thing. I've had multiple chances to see them in the 2000s, but I'm afraid that

I saw Rodan and Sebadoh, not Slint. But really you should be slapped for not seeing the three of them together. Somebody slap him!

The Sonics . . . The Sonics . . . The Sonics . . .

I want a frontman who can actually look at the audience.

I saw them on the Don't Tell a Soul tour. No Bob, obviously (bad), but Paul was drinking (good . . . but bad . . . but good). Not sure if all of the shows were like the one I saw, but it tended to be more Let It Be Replacements rather than All Shook Down Replacements, so it was a win.

You couldn't at least have pushed HIM out of the way of the bullet??? He could still be performing today!

Minutemen. Got to see fIREHOSE, but was just a bit too young to see Minutemen.

Eh, Replacements towards the end would have been pretty good to catch.

What if you're Mark Twain? What if you're a teacher/professor teaching Huckleberry Finn?

I was going to say never drink Iron City, but I understand your point.

Now it's malls in general that are the living dead.

Peduto said exactly what I hoped he would say . . . although throwing in a "jagoff" for good measure would have been appropriate. Or something about not jumping off of one of our 446 bridges just because the president did.

(quick break from politics)

Markie Post was the first time I saw . . . everything that was going on with her character.

When do we get to mass marketed Costa Rican beers? I want to hear how Imperial ranks.
