It’s interesting how that varies with countries/cultures. Last year they did a study on gender preference in South Korea and found that men there preferred to have daughters now.

From a purely evolutionary point of view, it is more “beneficial” for a mother to have girls. There’s a reason why almost all girls have incredibly close relationships with their maternal grandmothers. It’s a genetic thing.
