I've noticed that this IE simulator doesn't really truly emulate IE. It still uses Chrome's webkit and browser fetch interface, so if you're a developer trying to find a quick way to test for IE using Chrome, this definitely isn't it.

Does anyone know of a free version of this? I really hate messy metadata, but I'd rather deal with it than shell out $30.

The sunglasses trick works well on planes, but people around you think you're blind because you're wearing sunglasses on a brightly lit moving plane. Its rather awkward. (I saw a man doing it across the aisle and the flight attendant asked if he would like to see the braille menu. I didn't even know they HAD braille

@timgray: Not really. You just open the WINE preferences panel and click on Manage Programs...

The one feature I really wish Ubuntu would include with a fresh install is Wine. Most people who know how to use Linux usually install it within 15 minutes of installing Ubuntu, so why not just group it in the .iso and save everyone some brainpower? I think I'd be a great idea, and I'm sure a large amount of the Linux

@Monty: I can't believe you call it pr0n mode. (:

I've realized that if one is using a Hackintosh with a regular Windows keyboard, the alt key becomes the command key. Does anyone know where I can buy a command key online to swap out with my Windows key? I love my Hackintosh, but its driving me crazy.

@olliebean: I agree. The entire firm was full of 50 year old men though, which probably led to quite the nostalgia.

Do you guys have an age requirement? I'm not exactly old, but I've had quite a lot of experience in web design and marketing and have worked with big names. I'd really like to work here, but most other internships have turned me down because I was apparently too young.

People don't really like the link idea. I sent a link including sites that I've designed and maintained in the past, and the company responded saying that the online benefit gave me an advantage that other applicants were not given. Thus, I had to submit a paper resume. Though I was applying for a web-related job,

1) I've noticed there are now ads by google on some lifehacker posts. Is this new?

@Felix26591: do you know how i could get the dock? that's the one part of the theme i actually really like.

Does anyone else realize the problem with this? If I can see and employ this method, someone trying to get into my computer is probably going to see it too. This is a classic example of what I like to call the Blogger's Paradox. If you think of a hot new security or privacy idea, it'll probably be read and broken

This seems like it does nothing besides a slick background and a dock. I'm sure you can get both without yet another install. Somebody tell me if I'm wrong, please.

At least it'll be a step up from the crap that they pass for messages now. Still, there's no way I'm giving up my Gmail for Facebook any day. Google is just light years ahead of anything Facebook will ever release. Good idea though!

I just use a Firefox addon called Webmail Blocker. Haven't seen an add in Gmail ever since, and the product touts that it works for Hotmail and Yahoo as well.
