When it’s close, if Checo thinks he can win then he’ll try. Max won’t keep a cool head and either lose concentration or just do something dumb. There’s a much higher chance of that happening than Checo just winning outright.  Think back to Monza when Max parked his car on top of Hamilton.  It’s not Hamilton/Rosberg…

I’d also want to see the look on Max’s face to getting beat for the title - and Horner’s as well. Although over a season, I’d expect Max to take the title over Checo.

Max is too strong on regular circuits, his driving style gives him an advantage there. There are just not enough street circuits to make it likely for Checo to win the championship.
