Snake is cool because the game was based on real world and tries to be realistic. But in a fantasy world, people wouldn't want them actually. That's why in Nier Asian version, the main character is a young guy and in the Western release, it's an old dude. It's just different aesthetics. As Asian myself and many of my

As a loyal JRPG fan, I would like SE stop making those spin-off games and make some proper sequels to games like Romancing Saga, Parasite Eve(3rd birthday doesn't count), Chrono Cross, Xenogears, etc...

No never. Maybe in the west, but in Asia no one would like to play as old man, except it's Snake.

More shooter games like Bioshock please. I'm really not interested and can't see the appeal of this kind of game with immature jokes and tasteless gimmick. But then again, that's just me. There are already enough people liking some game filled with juvenile dick jokes.

Sorry I have played those games and I even played Fallout 3 in Japanese first and then beat it again in English for the second time because I really liked it. And I've also played FO: New Vegas, DA:O and many other games. I'm now playing The Witcher 2 and looking forward to Skyrim. So please don't assume you know me

No sir, in Fallout 3 and Oblivion, people play the same set of pre-designed quests and finish them in a pre-determined set of outcome based on what you choose from the pre-determined choices given by the developers and suddenly it's YOUR role? If you go to the forum of those games, you can always see people discussing

Right in WRPGs, you can create your own role within the PRE-DEFINED roles created by the game developers. I think it's a bit hypocritical to criticize JRPGs on that front while in WRPGs, you only get to play within the pre-determined pseudo choices which give you a false sense of freedom. Can you join the reapers in

RPG isn't defined by what role you play, sir. It's decided by the gameplay mechanic, namely character progression, loot, customization, story-driven, etc. You don't get to make any choice in Diablo but it's still an RPG and with the pre-determined characters, you are still role-playing as them.

Why are people surprised?

Clannad is classic in anime history. If your taste is only sci-fi or action, then I guess it wouldn't be interesting to you.

It's not typical light hearted high school drama. It's more dark and profound in the story and world settings. Just you know in Persona 2 games, you can encounter Hitler as a boss, lol.

I think this type of game will always be cult and niche to just appeal minorities. I don't see how much fun players nowadays can get when all they want is to run and gun then die and respawn and run and gun.

Yes for the majority's opinion of East Asian gamers.

1. Dying hair is normal in Asia.

Whatever they make, just please don't make another shooter or hack'n'slash game like ME2 and DA2. Also please don't insert out of place romance just for the sake of it.

Modern history isn't the only history US has, is it? Without the ancestors and the history of slavery, the foundations they laid down in the early stages of the nation, there wouldn't be Modern US. Just think about what comes first.

Either you are oblivious of history or you don't know how the society develops. It doesn't matter what happened IF NOT or what happened AFTER. The fact is the hardware foundation of early US WAS de facto built by slaves or labors. Without them, US would be a total difference from today.

Oh no, we don't want steroided bald head dudebro in JRPGs. JRPG should never cater for Western taste just as WRPG should never try to be Japanese.

Bur you know almost all public facilities and transportation were built by slaves. Just think about mines, rail roads, farm and other fundamental things for a young nation, I'd say the idea that US is built on slavery is well justified.

First, I suppose you can do some research on human hair color and iris color before you make your bold assumption? Blonde hair and blue eye are not privilege to Caucasians. But that's besides the point.
