@shenmue2: Well, in the US, basically FPS, sports and action games dominate the list. Those games aren't particularly popular in Japan. So the more popular Western games in Japan are usually RPGs.
Another slap to people who say Japanese don't buy western games because they are western. I'm not surprised by the sale of FO: NV because although it's western game, yet it's not another mindless shooter. RPG in Japan is always better received than other genres.
Heh, I guess I really dislike FPS games. After beating the campaign, I didn't feel anything special. The game has some Hollywood moment, but I just couldn't get into the unlimited respawn enemies and shooting gallery style gameplay. The story is also pretty much cliched schizophrenic main guy plot. Also too many…
Personally I don't mind multiplayer games as long as they can find some way to pest control all the trolls, assholes and bad losers playing online, which is possible and that's also the reason I don't play multiplayer games.
For anyone curious why xbox360 fans are referred as "chikan"(pervert), just you know many galgames are on xbox360 like Dream Club or Idol Masterk, any people aren't particularly interested in shooters there. Look up the videos on youtube if you don't the games.
I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I really don't like the recent trend of game developers tauting hoax or gimmicks about games being "emotional", "personal", "moral gray", "gritty", "controversy", etc.
I find many comments here are more offensive and inappropriate than
@RawSteelUT: "The problem with MoH was that it sold on hype, not on the merits of the game."
Maybe people will say it's just a hindsight, but I really thought the game wouldn't be a big success from the beginning. It's just as many sub-par EA games have put out, huge hype and heavy marketing campaign before the release. The bigger the hype is, the bigger the failure usually is, especially in the already…
@ginazninja: Thought you could have some substantive argument rather than ranting words like retarded or bullshit around like some 13-year-old.
@ginazninja: Sir, it seems you are the one who didn't get the point.
@3D: Cause Two Eyes Are Better Than One: Man, I suggest you go to Japan and ask anyone on the street if those things are like normal in Japan.
@ValentineMocker: Tried the fix. The microstuttering issue still hasn't been fixed. It's a driver issue I think.
@Mr_Biggles: Running on the latest driver. I can run any other games and software flawlessly. And it's not only me, you will find many other similar complaints on Bethesda forum.
@ginazninja: so now you see the fallacy in your argument right? I'm not native Japanese but I grew up in Japanese culture. Yet I don't feel racism there? In my opinion and experience, if you have to say it's racism, then I'd say racism in Japan is just as much as the rest of the world.
@3D: Cause Two Eyes Are Better Than One: I don't get why it's weird. Manga/anime is one of the most prominent part of Japanese culture and it's totally normal this culture also generates something for sexual purposes.
@Twyst3d: That's after I posted my own comment and told the poster my post.
@3D: Cause Two Eyes Are Better Than One: I suppose all Japanese games you played are not "normal"? How about we need normal games without splattered limbs, corny sex jokes and steroided bald guy?
@TheRealDoshu: I have a dedicated comment/post in the comments. Maybe you check it out. You can find it in my recent activity if you click my username I believe.
