Well it does have a bit of magic, in the form of dream ghosts.

Just going to second watching the show. It took me a while to bite the bullet, but I’m so glad I did. Then I got my friend totally hooked on it when we were in Costa Rica together. It’s just so smart and clever and just really sweet and heartfelt.

Yeah all of those songs that you listed that I didn’t I love too! “Let’s Have Intercourse” is such a spot-on Ed Sheeran parody... it doesn’t hurt that Scott Michael Foster is freaking adorable, either. Can’t wait for him to have more songs this season.

I think you’re the only person I’ve met who loves “I Give Good Parent.” My roommates hate that song so much they fast-forward through it. I like the concept, but I didn’t love the execution.

Let’s do this! In no particular order:

I would be happy to discuss our favorite songs... here’s my top ten (in no particular order, because I really can’t do it).

Except gay men. Every single one of them are funny and cute. 🤣

That’s understandable.

I thought it was more about the scenes in romantic comedies than in real life, but this could be it. There’s no shame in admitting that a bunch of drunk women getting together and saying, “Ugh, men, boo,” are being willfully dumb. That behavior is not the same as a discussion between women who have been sexually

Oh, no, if ever there was a show that wouldn’t throw women under the bus it’s this one.

I chose to take it as condescending to the idea that when women do this they actually mean all men. Basically poking fun at the whole #notallmen crap. Basically, I’m pretty sure that they were just trolling MRA’s and I kind of want to see this cross posted Jalopnik for the offense it would cause over there.

This song is pretty on par for the general theme of the show and the musical numbers they tend to do. Its poking fun at a sitcom/romcom format and making a sly comment about generalizations. It’s both. Rachel Bloom is a smart and savvy type person.

Exactly! My thought is if you don’t watch the show then you can’t make a critical analysis of the songs or video.

I think it’s just Bloom et al poking a little fun at us ladies. The show satirizes the socialized behavior of everyone, including women. She’d like us to admit that even the most rational of us ladies sometimes over-generalize and stereotype about men when we are sad or hurt or when we commiserate with our friends.

If you’ve seen the episode, it makes more sense in context. There are many layered jokes and comments about society and feminism in every episode. If you haven’t seen the show, I highly recommend it. It’s my new favorite.

I think it’s aimed primarily at the conventions of shows and movies like this. There always seems to be a scene (especially in older romantic comedies), in which a group of women get drunk and, well, generalize about men. This show has always taken aim as tropes (rushing to the airport to stop a loved one from moving,

My brother told me a few years ago that he has a trick he uses to keep from saying offensive things — whenever he wants to say something “politically incorrect,” he thinks, “Would Ad Infinitum get mad at me for this?” and if he decides I would, he doesn’t say it.

I just ended things with my SO of five years last week. He was also this way, “jokingly” use the N-word, make off putting comments about other people and stereotypes of groups of people. He knew it made me uncomfortable but he always disguised it as “joking,” “being real,” or saying “I wouldn’t say these things if the

For all her IM A BIG BITCH talk she seems like a really decent person.

The talkshow on Netflix was bad (very sacharine), but the doc series she did was great. So I see this as a good thing. Also, bill nyes talkshow thing was even worse. Netflix isnt doing so good when it comes to that format.
