Sounds like Flanagan was so beholden to King and King’s desperate desire to reclaim the Shining from Kubrick that he basically slapped the ending to the original book onto the end of the sequel.

Unless the movie is set in the 90's, I’m not exactly sure why they would be filming it in black and white. People make movies on their phones now. 

That Dwight wasn’t fired and/or in jail for about 50 different things he did over the course of the show led me to believe this was not meant to be a realistic, hard-hitting documentary about the paper industry.

I don’t understand how bringing on this one guy (as a performer, not a writer) was supposed to appeal to conservatives - were they going to give him 5 minutes an episode with a live mic to complain about immigrants, or was he just going to randomly inject right-wing talking points into whatever interminable game show…

I guess all we’re missing now are two elements:
- someone asking how easy it is to hack, so we can put NHL 94 and Aladdin on it.

All the stories about the backstage machinations - the showrunner and multiple writers quitting over “interference from two of the lead actresses” (guess who?), and the declining ratings means this was probably a one-and-done.
