‘Union’ in this case does not refer to unions. They a pro-union with the UK, as opposed to Irish republicanism, like Sinn Fein (basically SF wants to reunite with the Republic of Ireland).

No SF would never do that, even if anyone could convince them it would be Jeremy Corbyn who got a drubbing for reaching out to them during the Troubles.

I was dithering between voting Green (universal basic income FTW) or voting Labour in a safe Labour seat, and here remark about changing human rights laws ultimately made me choose Labour. Because why the fuck would I take a chance on that? Given how much third party votes dried up this time, I’m probably not the only

That is correct.

Honestly I only remember his name, not his face.

Khan was my MP when I lived in Tooting (yes, that is the real name of the neighbourhood). He helped me with an immigration matter, and he raised my view of what a politician can do and be. He definitely had a good reputation in Parliament advice well, but I think he got on everybody’s radar during the campaign for

He was up for Labour leadership after Milliband stepped down after the last election. He was memorable for the fact that he was the only one who fit the stereotypical clean-cut white male model of politician. There was Corbyn of course, but he was the longshot cranky bearded socialist anti-nuke guy (no one thought he

Met police have just declared that London Bridge and Borough market were terrorist incidents (@metpoliceuk). Vauxhall was apparently unrelated.

Another Canadian (ex-Catholic, and of some native descent) chiming in to say this definitely was not a matter of choice, and the intention was to forcibly integrate native peoples by irradicating all vestiges of native culture. It was horrendous and shameful (and unfortunately had parallels in Australia).

I vividly remember the shitstorm that was Iran-Contra (I think I was 8, but man that shit was eyeball grabbing), the Clarence Thomas confirmation, and Clinton’s impeachment. This stuff takes time. FWIW, for good or bad, Trump/Russia seems to be on schedule, especially with the volume of scandal that needs to be parsed

Well when they finally realise Orrin Hatch could be their new Republican president, then maybe they will dump Trump and still get to ram their brainless agenda through.

More like Arya Stark, for the badass quotient.

Try eShakti. You can give your measurements and they will customise their clothes. Plus they have new stuff everyday, have a huge range of default sizes, and have lots of cotton stuff.

...in Russia joke laughs at you?

Yes! And I don’t have naturally black hair; I have (had) auburn. Not a lot, but noticeable. So weird.

As I stated in my post, I was uncertain about the queenmother title and whether Prince Phillip would have something similar if the Queen died before him. As far as I know the only times this would have come up previously was with Prince Albert and Queen Victoria, and Queen Anne and Prince George but both husbands died

Oh no disrespect taken at all. It is all very convoluted :-)

Prince Phillip is the consort of the Queen. He would never become king (he is like her second cousin or something, they are both descended from Queen Victoria, but I don’t think he’s in the line of succession that way, as in 200th in line or something, I think because he was a Prince of Denmark and Greece).

When I lived in the US (uninsured) I once went to the emergency room to see if I needed stitches for a bad cut (I didn’t). I got charged over $900. For basically nothing. The less than 5 minutes of a doctor’s time that I used is not worth that. That’s just bonkers that that could happen.

O_o I hope this is some form of sarcasm. Otherwise fuck you. My bowel cancer at 39 was due to a genetic risk, not lifestyle (I didn’t eat red meat for 10 years and was vegetarian for 2). Luckily I live in the U.K. now and the NHS saved my life for £16 out of pocket.
