Edison was a prodigious inventor who built the first real innovation factory and turned inventions into products into profits into inventions. You don't have to like the idea to realize why he is remembered and important. There will never be a backlash.

The Marshall plan never accounted to more than 3% of GDP. The US took all of Britains credits, gold and companies on cash and carry basis. Then in return for global military bases gave them out of date and obsolete destroyers.
