It isn’t a slap on the wrist. When they first arrive in the US, these mamas and kids sleep are forced into freezing-cold rooms, berated by guards, forced to sleep on the concrete floor with no blankets with the lights on all the time and no windows, and fed frozen ham sandwiches, if anything.
