Calling them “weird” laws is kind of insensitive, no? They’re just different than what we’re used to.

Being able to download the first season of Catastrophe (their AMAZING original show), Dirty Dancing, and VEEP for my long plane flights this week made it feel worth it alone. But I also loooove the free two-day delivery. I don’t use the unlimited cloud storage or the music, but I don’t see how anyone would hold out…
I really, really appreciate the timing of this article! I have been preparing to lead some workshops at work, and I’ve never done something like this before. It’s pretty low stakes, but I’ve been nervous, and all the points in that HBR article helped relax me.
That’s exactly what I was thinking! And you do need a camera with a low shutter speed, too... So at that point, just get a $25 external flash. Or just light paint effectively; no need for Photoshop.
I like this advice, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with interupting (especially if it’s with enthusiasm, like, “What? Me too!”), as long as you acknowledge you interupted the person and let them get back to what they were saying. Most people just don’t do that.
With Amazon testing its own delivery service and failing miserably at it (at least, in my neighborhood...), I’ve definitely enjoyed the Prime extension!
This, which I always see on Reddit: “Don’t treat someone as a priority who only treats you as an option.” Ohhhh how I wish I had heard this in my early twenties.
For me, if I said yes to everything, I would be spending a lot of time with people I don’t want to spend time with. I wish more interesting people asked me to do interesting things!
Copy editors do more than just correct grammar. (And most of the time, the grammar “rule” you learned in school is wrong.)
I love this. I’m taking a trip to San Francisco by myself (where I also don’t know anyone) next month. I’ve been really nervous to try something like this!
I’ve been poring through FDA guidelines and other websites trying to figure out why we shouldn’t freeze vaccum-packaged products. It looks there is no real merit to this. The FDA is concerned that some people think this method means bacteria can’t grow, so they don’t follow proper protocol, but that’s all I have…
Why can’t we freeze food that came in vacuum-sealed packaging? I have some vacuum-sealed chicken thighs from a Blue Apron meal I wasn’t able to cook...
The routine is what I find key. I could start doing all of the things listed in this article, and it won’t matter if I’m not sticking to a strict routine in the morning. Without it, I just dawdle.
My boyfriend and I actually love going to IKEA. Tips for trips with two people (to shop for all items):
Maybe for some people... but for me, I am always considering weight even though I have a fancy four-wheeled spinner carry-on. I usually have to get on and off a shuttle bus (sometimes for both departure AND arrival city), and I usually put my bag in the overhead on the plane—I don’t want to have to lift something…
Nice— I do this already, so that must be why I like cleaning and feel so happy afterwards!
But you can get to DTLA easily from Culver City now on the Blue Line!
What are you guys hoping to play? That place is fun, but I’d be more inclined to meet up with a bunch of strangers if there’s a promise of fierce competition.
