Yes. Especially with tight corners in quick succession. Mostly to do with transferring the weight of the car more quickly. Its less effective in a lighter car (eg. Miata) but works well in something the size of the M3. He wouldn't have won the hill climb if it was a slow driving method. =]

The headers all come off of one side of the engine so there's no reason for another exit pipe. Also saves on weight.

I agree as well. I find most factory bikes incredibly boring, but there is an enormously cool industry for modified bikes that produces some of the coolest machinery on the planet.

I don't know about that. Gronholm seems to have lifted several times throughout that video. Lifts at 0:17 and 0:51 are the mot noticeable. Of course, I'm not saying that it isn't impressive, just that the title of the video is inaccurate.
