As much as it is unbelievable, unfortunately this is a glimpse into our near future. This is what happens when corporations are valued more than people. This is what happens when the people of a nation are viewed as a commodity only. Our rights are being eroded, 40 million fuck face bigots and self hating assholes

Not only that, but they wanted to give his seat to an employee who was deadheading to another flight for the next day. At at airport that’s only a 5 hour drive away.

I hope this results in legislation that prohibits overbooking. Airlines should just be permitted to sell out their seats. If someone misses their flight, the airline keeps the fare and doesn’t get to make 2x the money because of overbooking.

I don’t blame the 4 employees that United attempted to add to the flight. I’m willing to bet that they were being forced to staff a plane in Louisville due to other flight delays or something like that and they had no choice in the matter. This seems to be the unintended but inevitable result of shitty corporate

If you don’t show up you are still charged for the ticket, though (at least, that’s what happened to me when I missed a flight). So airlines just want to make twice the money of one seat, and I can’t summon up a whole lot of sympathy for that.

Official statement:

A lack of planning on United’s part doesn’t constitute an emergency on mine.

That’s United’s problem, not the paying passengers.

I understand, but I just don’t care.

Well, the employee said, “I want that.” And United Airlines asked, “Are you a 10 year-old girl wearing leggings?” And when the employee said no, United decided to revoke the passenger’s ticket with extreme prejudice.

United Airlines spokesman Henry “Indiana” Jones, Jr. stated that forcible removal is standard protocol when an involuntary volunteer refuses to comply with a volunteering order.

If only there were some way to keep airlines from selling more seats than are physically available in a plane.

I got my dream job. Literally my dream job. I start in May. I am freaking out. I now have to quit my job and move and start this huge new process but I’m so fucking thrilled and I can’t believe it. Holy shit. It’s not quite official but I’m waiting for my contract to be sent to me (Tuesday) before I announce it but

Do you really think Jezebel spends too much time discussing the intersection of culture and intellectual property law?

Your syntax is a mess and I have no idea what you’re trying to say.

I don’t know. But this is about Black girls. Make up something for yourself, which can be done without whining about Black girls referencing themselves.

Just fine.

Black girls.

Sufficiently represented and venerated in popular culture at the current time.
