Ok, fine, you get points for the relatively deep-cut Spaceballs reference.

There’s some truth to that, but you’re also cherry-picking examples. Black Panther and The Avengers were huge hits, but the two most recent Avengers films earned far more than either, and No Way Home (which was released just before 2022) did as well (and was only just passed by The Way of Water, and Maverick won’t…
I mean, they’ve been making Superman and Batman adaptations for nearly as long as the comics have been around (and we have almost have a century of Superman films), and there’s still enough of an appetite for both that they are still extremely viable properties, and that’s just two characters. For that matter, the…
The AV Club:
“We’re so tired of talking about nepo babies. We started talking about nepo babies, and then the nepo babies talked about nepo babies, so we reported about the nepo babies talking about nepo babies, and now we’re tired of talking about nepo babies talking about nepo babies. Did we mention nepo babies?…
I grew up and went to college (community, then 4-year state school) in New Jersey. I sound a lot more like Brian Williams than I do anyone on The Sopranos. The state’s a lot more culturally diverse than TV would have you believe. (Shocking, I know.)
This has had “disasterpiece” written all over it for years. Hoping it lives up/down to that when (if?) it finally gets released.
Not to be depressing, but given what I’ve read, it’s incredible he’s alive (and seemingly has the use of at least one arm). If he was mostly run over by a 14,000 lb snowplow, I’m having trouble imagining him ever being remotely the same again, at least physically. I sincerely hope I’m wrong about that, but I’m kind of…
I had seen him in a few things, and always got the feeling that he was a creep. Not happy to find out my instincts were correct, of course, but at least my yikes-dar isn’t wholly off.
That one was great, but this tops it for me all-time (because, come on, Levi Fucking Stubbs):
New Jersey. 9th grade for me too. Even then I thought it was pretty weird that they shot it, and that we were seeing it, even though I didn’t know she was underage until later.
I’d imagine not that high. This kind of brand differentiation seems pretty standard, if only so we think the products we use are made by our friendly local billion-dollar corporation, instead of our hundreds-of-billions-dollars multinational corporate overlords. (Just think of all the products and services that aren’t…
Ahem. You seem to have forgotten Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Your error is understandable, but I hope it will be rectified quickly.
“Its second weekend included Christmas Eve, when nobody is going to the movies.”
I can’t help but notice that his last bunch of reviews have basically been A, A, B+, A. If the films are genuinely great, that’s wonderful, but it’s a bit hard for me to believe that all of Hollywood is suddenly on a hot streak. I miss Ignatiy and his more discerning taste.
If money and time were infinite, perhaps I would consider that. But since they’re not, I can’t invest my money in something that subsidizes bigotry when I could instead use that same money and time on games that writers and developers also sunk their hearts and souls into that don’t subsidize bigotry.
The Flash’s Michael Keaton.
You never know, he might still come back. Just look at Michael Keaton.
I have wanted a truly full, immersive Hogwarts-based game for over two decades now, and have literally dreamed about it in that time. It absolutely kills me that it’s finally coming out, and that I cannot in good conscience buy it and subsidize rowling’s bigotry.
I cannot be the only person who keeps reading that they cancelled “WW3" and instinctively thinking “oh thank God, the last thing we need is another world war” before I remember the context.
So basically Zaslav was brought in to smother HBO Max with a pillow? The Batgirl thing I could conceptualize as a viable way to take a tax write-off and save some money, but this just seems counter-productive. Just because something isn’t wildly profitable doesn’t mean it’s not still worth something. It feels less…
