Can’t anything just be self-contained anymore? Thank God Jordan Peele isn’t working on “Get Out Again,” at least.

I believe you didn’t intend to. However, just because an implication of something we say is unforeseen and unintentional does not mean it is not still present.

Except that your definition of “too far” was how much of their life and identity their fandom occupied, rather than what bigotry it mingled with or how they externalized it against other people. My point is that drawing the line where you did is stigmatizing, rather than emphasizing channeling that fandom in positive (

I don’t know what you thought I was saying, but I’m autistic and was pointing out how the prior post was stigmatizing something that is normal for many neurodivergent people.

I agree with the first half, but not the second. For some neurodivergent people, focused interests can become much of one’s life and identity, and that isn’t in-and-of-itself a bad thing. And finding other people who share those interests can be incredibly affirming and positive. (For example, I’m a Beatles fanatic,

At least it was getting good at puzzle solving, though, and not at reflexes or muscle memory. From an accessibility standpoint (since I work in that arena, and because of motor tics have some minor accessibility issues with certain games as well), a game like Myst can be vastly preferable to the From Software stuff.

I think it’s a fuzzy line. He is correct, to a large degree, both because it is his own story and because of the subtler elements. As a Jew, though, I do become uncomfortable when I start to feel like an actor is “performing” Judaism or substituting stereotypes for depth. I concede I don’t know where exactly the line

That’s fair. I hate this voice actress and the game’s producers, though.

Gotta love those stories where everyone is terrible. A classic “whoever wins, we lose” situation.

If he thought it would piss off progressives, he’d probably off himself tomorrow.

::Sigh:: I’ve sometimes found that a certain type of theater kid doesn’t understand the distinction between “can” and “should,” and defends all actions as “artistic expression” no matter the consequences or harm. This same type of kid makes everything excessively dramatic, and has no conception of how doing so might

And the allegations (::ahem::) of abusing multiple other wives.

“’It started bitter in the beginning, because obviously you’re anticipating the end, but we ended on such a sweet note, and I’m just so happy that I once again got to work with great people,’ Saldaña continues.”

It also forgot to make them fun. The Marvel films (well, the good ones) get that right - comics are supposed to be enjoyable, even when they are telling a darker story or sending a complex message. Most of the DCEU stuff just feels like a slog. (Snyder, notably, seems anti-fun.) I’m not sure anyone in the MCU has a

Considering how many times the fandom pages have crashed my browser with ads, I hope for more of this.

I enjoyed Arceus, but gave up on Sword after a few hours. If this is more like the former with a better (albeit still thin) story and a more exciting gameplay loop, I might pick it up. On the other hand, if it’s still handholding-heavy and dry, this one will be a pass, even with a more impressive open world.

Honestly, I’m surprised the monkey has any extended fingers left at this point.

I see we have another story where I hate everyone involved.

Pretty sure I facepalmed so hard I just broke my hand.

I assume we’ll soon hear from Peter Molyneaux about a new NFT game with several dozen incredible features that, when it’s actually released several years later than anticipated, will be replaced by something that’s essentially Clippy’s zombified corpse.
