Not to quibble, but wasn’t Delroy Lindo also announced as a cast member? (Making Ali not the only announced one?)

My girlfriend enjoyed it. Not sure how much of that was ironic, though.
I’m assuming the last shot will reveal that “Mordor” was actually the name of Saruman’s childhood sled?
But seriously, it is genuinely baffling to me how much the Tolkien “fan” groups are already vilifying this show without having seen a single episode. I’m just withholding judgment until I actually watch it, but…
For some reason, no matter how many other things she does (and excels in), every time I see her name I still think, “oh cool, it’s Martha Jones’s sister!”
Looks good to me! I just hope there’s more depth - this seems like a blast for an hour, but after that it would get boring. If this can be a Sonic game with an actual story (and a more varied world - I’m hoping this is basically just one large area), then I could imagine it being great. I don’t need the same game done…
Honestly, though I might be the only one, I loved the “adventure field” parts of the first Sonic Adventure - it was the first thing in the franchise that made me think of it as more of a full world, and not just a series of arcade-like stages. (Which, for a kid that was also into the Sonic comics at the time, was a…
“Sonic Frontiers’ giant hamster wheels seemingly aping Ubisoft-style, map icon-revealing towers”
Or, if we’re sticking to the theme, the towers that did exactly the same thing in Breath of the Wild.
I recall a report that Mary Elizabeth Winstead was joining the show in an undisclosed role. She’d be a bit younger than I’d imagine for the part, but especially with enough makeup to turn her into a twi’ilek, it’s certainly not impossible, so she’d be my first guess.
Speaking as a straight white man, if we don’t want to be the enemy, then we should probably stop doing the types of things that make us the enemy. (Like pleading victimhood when we are the ones doing the vast majority of the oppressing.)
I just wish Christopher Lee (who would have just turned 100 a few days ago) were around to voice him.
I felt it was perfectly decent film. I also felt like it was least necessary film in the franchise. It was less an interesting story that needed to be told, and more like someone wanted to take a bunch of mildly interesting random lines and ideas from the OT and give them all an explanation - which to me, took away a…
The real magic was the stupid names we made along the way.
Controversial take: Crystal Skull did a decent job of being the movie it was trying to be, which was a merging of the first three films’ tone and style with bad sci-fi b-movies from the 50s (hence things like the clearly painted background’s and Blanchett’s Boris-and-Natasha accent). The problem was that no one wanted…
Considering the kind of person Atkinson seems to be these days, I’m rooting for the bee.
Just give me the damn Spider-Man games on PC already. (And Forbidden West, but I know that’s at least a year away.)
And don’t get me started on the KOTOR remake.
Horizon on Netflix, eh? Great, now I can look forward to being overwhelmed by public discussion of the show for a week, watching it three months later when I actually have time, loving it, and then seeing it get unceremoniously cancelled after two seasons.
My only regret is that I have but one star to give this comment.
I think you meant REM.
See, I really would have preferred to have taken that my 1L year.
Speaking as a lawyer, I’d take the opinion of a guy who routinely does his research over most of the people on the internet.
