If my internet stalking amateur sleuthing skills are correct, Mr. “My Huracan Sucks” and his wife just had a baby about a month ago. This might not be a good time to drop six figures into the engine of your six figure Italian two-seater/mechanic’s children’s college fund.

To be totally, brutally honest David, I think you sound like you have reached a point in your automotive life where you need to take a break from doing ridiculous things with complete shitboxes, and spend some time getting to know a car or two that is interesting, characterful, and yet reliable. Reasonably reliable,…
Reasons 1-11
At the time of the article’s publishing, 23 of some 200 original LAPD electric vehicles were listed for sale on the dealership’s website.
It’s got a cop motor, a 130 kilowatt plant, it’s got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks...
I like the way you think. To take it further, just order the ladder yourself. Take the ladder. Take the shipment money. Take the phones. And then call Amazon and tell them you never got either one of your ladders.
And if you’re lucky, the delivery item is a ladder!
If you do it right you get the delivery fee, the item, AND the phones in the tree.

Some hedge fund should hire these guys for cheap to improve their high-frequency trading divisions.
I’m at the same place with it. I love that this car exists, but I don’t think it is worth the asking price. The seller might get lucky and find a VW fanatic who just has to have this unicorn, and will pay a big premium to get it. For most buyers, this is probably a $3-$4k car. No Dice.

I know which end of the ratchet to hold, but my understanding is that if something goes wrong with the W8, I will be holding that ratchet at both ends and occasionally the middle before things get sorted.
I don’t know guys - I have heard the horrors of working on this car but at under 7K for a W8......I’d seriously buy it just go tool around in for a few months and then sell it.....make sure I say a prayer every night that nothing would blow......NP but maybe I don’t understand what I’d be getting into.
I’m really on the fence, though I voted NP. This is about what I paid for my current Wagon five years ago, similar mileage, and a year younger. FWIW the Passat wagon in general is the only VW I’ve seriously considered.
No idea what the values on these are, but I do like them. I don’t want to own one but I like that it exists.
