In the interest of full disclosure: I’m 48, and I have poikiloderma (sun damage on my neck and chest, and beginnings on my face).

Great article. We were given one of those “crib for life” cribs that is supposed to transform into a bed frame. Baby hated sleeping anyplace but with us, wouldn’t sleep anyplace but with us. Baby made sure we couldn’t sleep either.

Thanks for this, very helpful. I especially like the Simplicity. “72 Things to Help You Overcome Procrastination” just doesn’t work, but 4? Do-able!

Don’t worry guys, PNW here. We love cargo shorts, and comfortable shoes too. If you live in a part of the country where you are being judged unfairly because of your cargo shorts, I invite you to join us here in Cascadia, where cargo shorts, keens, birkenstocks, and the like are part of our normal everyday wardrobe.

Thank you. PNW also here to represent. I have been baffled by the seeming public outcry against cargo shorts.

I think you’re on track with this! In fact, I think you should focus on the potential crotch rip factor, and explain to the lady folk that ahem well endowed men wear cargo shorts because they have extra cargo that cannot be contained by mere regular shorts alone.

Wait now! Jeggings are comfortable too. I think there is room in the world for cargo shorts and jeggings.

I live in the PNW, we still love cargo shorts.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s ok either. I immediately thought of yoga pants. And while it’s amusing to see the tables turned, and such a publicly judgmental review of mens’ fashion choices, beyond that I find it just as maddening as the many efforts to publicly judge women and girls and their fashion choices too.

OMG best comment! :)))

I interpreted their actions as a way of grieving. In the US we have movies and novel themes built upon how marriages collapse under the weight of the death of a child. While I don’t necessarily know “the right way” to do that level of grief (and I hope I never have to find out), I’m struck that on some level people

This is fantastic news, and I hope they will include teens in this IUD coverage. I’ve mentioned here on Jez before I am mom of a teen, and I’ve made sure that my teen has had access to fact-based sex education early on. I’ve also ensured she had easy and parent-supported access to birth control. In my “hip and

Completely off topic—I’m curious how your day looked as an industrial designer?

I have a question—I’m mom of a teen, and I don’t play, but I find it enjoyable to drive my teen and her friends around to hit Poke stops. I usually let them out, they run around, come back and we go to the next Poke stop. (I wanted to clarify something about this: some of my teen’s friends live in parts of town where

I used to work as a service writer at a tire shop, and later at a shop dedicated to Japanese auto repair. Please, do not take the word of the tire shop that your engine mounts are bad, and if they really are bad: for God’s sake do not let the tire shop take on that job.

So sorry to hear that’s the state of the profession in a major US city. :( I was baffled that smaller cities nearby offer higher pay!

Graduated from high school in the early 80s. Love the retro piece. And yes, Winona is delightful in this role.

Good luck to you—no one says we have to do this alone. Whatever the right help turns out to be for you, there are others who understand what you are going through. I hope that you are able to find local resources in your community for support.

Recovering alcoholic/addict, 19 years clean & sober. I’d like to suggest that seeking support is key. For me personally, I’ve had a good experience with AA; however, I realize one size does not fit all. Making sure that you find support that is a good fit for you is important for most of us.
