There’s a difference to being reminded of a trauma and being made slightly uncomfortable. People in school who can’t handle being exposed to ideas that make them uncomfortable shouldn’t be in school.

“Years ago at Lucent I used to defend her. Not because I liked her, just because the bullshit any woman exec catches is always heavily laced with misogyny.”

I’m asking if you think adults should learn to deal with harsh truths as well.

You honestly didn’t notice how vitriolic the anti-Christan/Republican/white man rhetoric was in the comments in the aftermath of the shooting? There’s plenty of extremists on this site.

Do you know who else promotes a radical climate of self-victimization? But I’m sure these people are confident they are the real victims...

It was an act of protest and Fiorina did denounce the violence. I am pro-choice, but citizens have a right to peacefully protest abortion clinics.
But linking this violent attack to the tactics of the left is ridiculous.

They should be for people who have experienced trauma, but even then most experts see trigger warnings as counterproductive to recovery.
Unfortunately, the use of trigger warnings has morphed to include views a person disagrees with.

Read the comments.

It’s not uncommon to denounce extremism on the other side while oblivious to similar behavior with your own tribe.

Read the Gawker/Jezebel comments about the man who shot up PP. Lots of people on here think the vast majority of Christians supported the attack. It’s the same as how lots of people on the right think all Muslims supported the Paris attacks.

He would have a point if certain parts of the left didn’t talk about Conservative Christians the same way Republicans talks about Islam.

I wish feminists could see how automatically believing that all accusations is counterproductive to their cause.

The statistics show it is more common than one percent. Should people ignore that false accusations exist and take an accusation as fact?

I`m surprised the comments are flooded with puppie gifs. The real world really is too much for a lot of the people here.

We’re all “capable’ of committing crimes.

How do you feel about trigger warnings and safe spaces?

Your comments reminds me of the kind of hate the right often shows towards Muslims. You should direct your ire at the control corporations have over the political process, and not religious groups. Of course then would come the realization that the Democrats and Republicans are both on board with fucking over the

The new norm is your rights end once other people are offended. True on both sides.

It reminds me of when students try to ban conservative speakers from universities. These students could simply not attend the lecture but instead they attempt to ban views that offend them. It’s almost like this behavior isn’t common to social conservatives, but authoritarian ideologies of all kinds.
