Depends on the film. Sometimes, it's frustrating and give the filmmakers the chance to have no rules. In others, it reveals too much and demystifies. In this case, I really don't care because the demon wasn't interesting to begin with.

I love that film. The first 40 minutes are some of the most audacious work ever done by a billion/dollar studio.
