Here’s the deal. It’s possible to have male power fantasies and also be supportive and enthusiastic for empowered women in real life too. When you play mario you don’t think about goomba rights. You don’t spend your time mulling over if it might be genocide to wipe out a hostile alien race. It’s all fantasy.

I gotta say, although feminist critique of sexy videogame characters always falls back to this idea that its not about the characters being sexualized, but how they’re done, too few critics of gaming sexualization actually follow through with that idea in cases where the sexualization is obvious.

its not hard to follow, he feels there is no actual sexism, but since it has attractive women in it, it could trigger some who have low threshold on it(some would say, kotaku) so its warning if you have a hair trigger. i have no opinion since I am unlikely to ever play it, but thats just what i get from it.

I have enough trouble as an adult segmenting out my video game time. If I had this as a kid, I would have flunked out, no question

On the one hand, part of me resents the fact that I grew up in a period before tech like this was available. Adult-me knows just how much kid-me would have taken advantage of this.

Bitcoins have DEFINITELY been used to pay for child porn - it’s not a stretch at all to imagine some of those same sick people would add it directly to the blockchain.

Or Bitcoin, which is used (not exclusively) by people who do illegal things on the dark web may have put things from the dark web on it themselves.
