When I was in high school, were were at the school library. I ripped one of the security tags from a book and slipped it into this kids backpack. So when he left the alarms went off. For some reason the librarians were incensed. “Where’s the book?!?” They searched him and his bag for like 5 minutes. It was amazing.

The thingy that makes turn signals flash is weird too! It’s a little coiled piece of metal inside a casing, wired up to the signal stalk and the lights. When current is applied (lights on) it expands with heat and cuts itself off (lights go off). The clicking turn signal noise was that coil working.
