Too many people in this comment section have seen Juwanna Man and think it’s something that would actually happen. Nothing drags out the neanderthal misogyny in the Deadspin commentariat more than Caster Semenya.
As opposed to what? Reddit users aren’t the most representational cross section of a city’s residents, sure. But neither are Lonely Planet writers, TripAdvisor users, Wikitravel editors, etc.
It was unprofessional no doubt. But social media marketing is bad, and telling people it is bad is good.

I mean the US really is not better than Israel. We perpetrate plenty of human rights abuses ourselves against our own people. We selectively ally ourselves with other abusive regimes across the globe depending on who best serves our imperial interests. Israel isn’t unique, though certainly one of the worst.
