Aerodynamically, there would be an improvement. Cooling wise, it depends. If the airflow through the radiator is degraded due to airflow blockage by the plate, that would be a problem. This issue can be easily solved by drilling a number of 1/4" holes in the plate, bending the plate down on it’s aft section or cutting…
